You are Oh So Original!

Yes..I believe that everyone was created to be an original. Unique by Design.
This photo of my goofy 9 year old says exactly that.  It is oozing with his own personality and I absolutely adore the expression on his face!
He was in the pool having "Noodle Wars" with his brothers and a few friends from down the street.  He was telling me "They are KILLING me Mom!!!" and THAT was the expression that I caught on camera.  LOVE IT.  LOVE.  LOL.
I decided to scrap this photo using the Summer Samba Collection as the main focus with bits of the Copper Kettle Collection intermixed. I LOVE the bright vibrant colors of the Summer Samba for my pics of the summer...it just adds life to them!  Here is a close up of the embellishment that i created by fussy cutting some pieces...

I decided to use a grid pattern for the basis of this layout since I was using this vellum quote strip.

I simply cut the quote strip in half to create a couple of my grid blocks.

Now, I certainly hope I've inspired you to get busy scrappin' some of your summer fun photos!  I had a blast doing this layout! Thanks for visiting us today...Have a Magnificent week!

Rain Bows

Good Morning!
Happy Monday to you all!
What a Beautiful day here in Texas after a week FULL of rain, rain, and more RAIN!
Seriously, every day we had thunderstorms.
And on Wednesday, we laid my Grandmother to rest and showers poured even then.
My 6 year old said "Those are God's tears, Mom.  He is sad that you are so sad."
The things that come out of the mouthes of babes.
Then, on the way home...after the rain...this was what we saw...

And I felt Peace.
And I knew it was all going to be ok.
It was God's Masterpiece.

And THAT was the inspiration for todays card.
I could not get the rainbow image out of my head...so I decided to put it on a card.
And the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson was absolutely PERFECT to go along with the direction I wanted this card to go.
And of course...It is a rain BOW right???
I used the bow easy tool to help with that...
I tied a bow at the end of every ribbon of the my rainbow.
The various colors of double ruffle ribbon were perfect to add texture to my card.

And with that, I tell you, Have a WONDERFUL Week, and I hope your day is full of sunshine and rainbows!!!!

Thanks for visiting me today!

To everything, there is a Season...

Truer words were never spoken.
This last week was a difficult one for my family, it was spent saying our final goodbyes to my Grandmother.  Her life ended on Friday the 15th, which also happened to be my own Mother's 60th Birthday.  It devastated my Mom.
I had already created this card a few days earlier, but found it fitting to give to my Mom to help to console her through this Season in her life.

The single butterfly represents my Grandmother, and I added in the vellum quote...
"To everything there is a Season."
Unfortunately, this was the season for loss.  My Mom actually found comfort and inspiration in this...and the words that I wrote on the inside.
Inspiration is everywhere, even in sad times.  I hope I have inspired you today.  Have a wonderful week, and remember, God never gives us more than we can handle.  There IS a season for everything...and this season, too, shall pass.

A Non-Birthday card....

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!
***Scroll Down for the Blog Hop***

What a beautiful day it is down here in the south!
I have a picnic planned with my munchkins and some other mom's...
one of whom is celebrating her Birthday today!
Of course, at some point in her life, she decided that she will no longer have birthdays...as many women seem to decide around their thirties...LOL.
So, since it is her "NON" Birthday, I decided to make her a non-birthday card!

I made some cupcakes, so I decided to stick with that theme....
I used the June Ribbon Club Assortment and some red jute string for this card.
Oh...and I LOVE the BG PB&J collection!
It is sooooo fun!

And since we ALL KNOW that I am seriously card challenged,
I cheated and used a card sketch from Basic Grey:

And with a NON Birthday card, my friend can't get mad at me for "celebrating" her birthday for her!
Thanks for visiting me today!
Have a FANTABULOUS Thursday!!!

Blog Hopping with Really Reasonable Ribbon!

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday!
It is a PERFECT day to be hopping along with us!
If you came to my blog from Patti's beautiful Blog,
then you are on the right track! If not, then you may want to consider
starting over at the beginning at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog
so that you don't miss a single project!

Here is this month's gorgeous Ribbon Club Assortment:

I am infatuated with the red/whit/blue theme!
I am not just an American girl, but I am also a proud Texan...
so those colors run all through my veins!  Just sayin'... LOL.

This month, i decided to add a little "twist" to my bow of the month.
Rather than just a bow, I created a beautiful headpiece for my daughter to wear at
the annual Independence Day Parade and Celebration that we attend.

I used all of the ribbons in the assortment along with a bit more.
My red head is usually very reluctant to be the recipient of one of my creations,
but this month, she was practically on her hands and knees begging me for this one to be hers!
LOL..I think I got her approval this time. ;)

I hope I have inspired you with my creation.  This month's assortment
definitely got my creative juices flowing again!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting me today!
Now it is time to head on over to Dawn's Delightful blog...
and have a Fantabulous Day!!

Mojo? .... oh Mojo???

MoJo...Mojo...oh where fore art thou, Mojo????
These last few weeks I have found myself to be completely uninspired to create.
I have been SUPER DUPER busy with my five kiddos and the end of school activities, banquets, awards ceremonies, field day activities and field trips. WHEW!  That was a mouthful!  LOL
They have kept me hopping, and I have seriously neglected my need to create!

This week, though...school is FINALLY out, the weather has been "iffy"
and I have actually had an opportunity to get creative!
While I was able to create several projects, I am going to start with this one...
a simple layout for Fathers' Day inspiration.

When one finds that MOJO has left the building,
I find it quite helpful to dig deep...
This time, I dug deep into my un-scrapped photos.
These photos are of my hubby and my 9 year old son...
when he was a mere munchkin.
And my hubby was somewhat handsome back then!  lol

Another thing that I find helpful, is to Keep it SIMPLE.
I decided on a super simple layout...but one that packs a major message.
Obviously, I am focusing on the fact that this is a "Dad & Son" layout.
in the bottom corner, though, you will see my use of a Quick Quotes vellum quote.
By using this quote, I eliminated all need for journaling,
AND I conveyed a VERY important message that I wanted to convey with this layout.

"Children are the hands by which we take hold of Heaven"

Wow...I couldn't have said it better myself!  LOVE it!
Hope I have inspired you today...whether it be to dig into old photos, to scrap a simple layout, or to break out your vellum quotes...do something CREATIVE today!
Have a Magnificent Saturday!
